PRIZES is the grungy glitter pop project of Brooklyn-based artist Lucas Ellman, blending raw emotion with shimmering hooks and hard-hitting beats. Originally formed as a duo with longtime friend and collaborator Neal Francis, PRIZES made a splash with a string of infectious singles—most notably “Dancing on the Limit,” which found a national audience via its feature on Netflix’s Never Have I Ever in 2020. After a hiatus, Ellman reemerged in 2025 to resurrect PRIZES as a deeply personal solo endeavor. The project now pulses with new life and intention, fearlessly occupying a queer space that celebrates sensitivity, self-exploration, and identity. Drawing on the glam of pop and the grit of grunge, PRIZES delivers songs that are both cathartic and danceable—emotional anthems wrapped in glossy, genre-blurring production. With an ear for detail and a heart on his sleeve, Ellman is carving out a sonic world where vulnerability is power and every track is a glitter bomb with depth.
